Been busy with classes, work and other, but I've finally managed to get back in the saddle. Just relaxing on a Saturday morning with Fox News on, watching the Lebanon/Israel fighting.

It's a touchy area over there. It's like being the unwanted neighbor in a neighborhood but not having the option to move. Noone seems to want Israel over there and they really can't just pack up an leave easily. I'm not sure of the deep rooted reasons why noone over there likes Israel but it's definitely getting uglier as the technology of war progresses. I just hope noone goes lobbing nukes around. I'm afraid that in my lifetime (currently 31 years old) I'll be witness to a nuclear missile being launched against another country. I highly doubt it will be the United States that does the launching but I'm almost willing to bet that one of the countries in the Middle East will do it. Sounds like a biased point of view but eh ... it's a blog, not a news broadcast, if ya think my opinion stinks here's a link to google, plenty of pages out there to look at other than mine.

When I think about all the conflict happening I can't help but come back to a quote I saw.

"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." - Albert Einstein

Lets just hope it doesn't come to that .... I'd make a horrible stone age denizen, they didn't have air conditioning !! :-)

I think I'm gonna give up this hectic lifestyle and become pumpkin chunker.

The time has come ...

'The time has come,' the Walrus said,
'To talk of many things:
Of shoes - and ships - and sealing-wax -
Of cabbages - and kings -
And why the sea is boiling hot -
And whether pigs have wings.'
- Through the Looking-glass, Lewis Carroll, 1832-1898

Just a favorite quote to throw up there to begin the post. I guess there is some stuff to chat about this time. My good friend door's dad is doing ok after recovering from a heart attack and door himself is on the road to recovery from a breakup, feel free to hop over to his blog and take a gander. Been a stressful year for him so far and it's a bummer to see it happen to a friend. He's put himself on the road to change though ... kind of a harsh way to get on the road ... but it happens to all of us. He's good people and I'm confident he'll be A-ok :-) I gots your back door !!! or the front ... or side ... wherever ya need me to stand ... I'm fairly omnidirectional when it comes to that.

Things are still starting out slow for me ... I've been on 3 dates with Angie but I think we're both a little gunshy. I'm still a little wary from my last relationship, after all I got dropped because I can't have pets (at least that's what I was told ... truth or not that's what I got) so I'm taking it easy ... it's kind of a curse to be allergic to animals, seems that every single woman has pets ... oh well ... my turn to make lemonade I suppose :-)

Attempting to exercise more and lose some weight ... it's a never ending quest for me ... I invariably drop a few pounds and then strap on the feedbag and it comes roaring back, but hey ... it's usually darn good food that does it so I can't chastise myself too much. Never the less I keep coming back for more. I'll have to document my weight battle here so you can have a good chuckle or I could post what I eat daily so you correct your own diet and avoid the same FATe.

Ah well ... enough of my rambling. Just wanted to scribble my thoughts down on paper ...... whatever ... ya get the point ;)

I think I'm gonna give up this hectic lifestyle and become a wandering minstrel.

Later everyone!

P.S. I just did a spell check and the word "blog" isn't in the dictionary ... I find that ironic and amusing.

Been a while !

wow .... new year .... 2006 ... been about a month since I posted ... got lazy and wrapped up in the holidays. Been an intersting few weeks, started going out with a young lady I met in my class at Akron U named Angie .... we've already been out twice and plan to go out this Saturday, I'm keeping my fingers crossed :-)

Other than that, life has been pretty routine unfortunately ... work, vacation, work ... ya'll know how it goes. Hope to add at least a LITTLE excitement in my life LOL man .... even a trip to Clyde NY would spice things up a little .... oi ... did I just say that ?! time for a checkup from the neckup :-)

was just reminded that my good friend Chris is turning 30 in 20 days :) dunno why I can't remember birthdays .... bizarre .... I can remember all sorts of stupid trivia, names, phone numbers and recall all sorts of useless crap .... just not birthdays ... alcohol musta shut off that part of my brain ;) ... at least that's my story and I'm stickin to it !

I'm the middle out of the three of us (Chris, Garland and I) .... Garland is only a few weeks older than me .... but older none the less .... strange though I don't feel like I'm going to be 31 .... I think I'll finally feel old when I have hair growing out of my ears .... that'll be a bummer ... but more on that later !

well ... the brain has shut off for the evening .... I'm wired up on dark chocolate covered almonds and bored ... yeah it's an unusual combo and kinda entertaining in it's own way.

I think I'm gonna give up this hectic lifestyle and become a serial mooner.

Later everyone!

Whole lotta nothin !

wow .... this is probably going to be the most boring post in history. I can't honestly think of anything to write. No car thoughts, nothing since vacation, just work and class .... thankfully class is almost over!!!

Still not results from the "shotgun approach" on various dating sites ... the dating scene has dried up like a puddle in death valley :) oh well ... been single for this long ! a while longer can't hurt.

Gotta get ready for a nice week long training class in sunny California. Ya know ... Cali is a nice place to visit but I don't think I could live there, too crowded, too polluted ... no thanks ... gimme a nice quiet place, large chunk of land, some sun and a beach nearby ... I'm thinkin North/South Carolina personally ... but that's for when I retire ... food for thought on another post.

Looks like my only salvation from boredom tonight is LOST ... that show's like cocaine ... one taste and you're hooked for good !!!

I think I'm gonna give up this hectic lifestyle and become a sloth tracker.

later everyone !

WOOOO what a ride !!!

Ahhh back from vacation, and let me tell you ... what a ride it was !!! Vegas is just one of those cities that shocks and amazes you at the same time. Had a great trip, did some gambling, some drinking, and other stuff (could tell ya but I'd have to demand equal share of the profits from the movie rights).

Now today it was back to work ... I feel ... human again *sigh* oh well. I left 70 and sunny Nevada for 34 and snow in Ohio, somethin's not right here HAHA ... I did feel better about myself while on the trip though ... I overheard someone say that it was "chilly" in Vegas ... even though it was 65-70 and sunny. I thought to myself "wadda wuss", heck ... here in Ohio we're still wearin shorts at 65 ... we don't even bother to shut down grilling season until we get more than an inch of snow ;)

I had some car thoughts today but for the life of me I can't remember what they were, kinda bummed becuase I'm pretty sure they were entertaining, was really tired goin into work so I guess they got lost in the fog. Oh well I'm sure they'll come back to me sooner or later. I think it's time to head for that great big couch in the sky .... no wait ... not that ... the great big couch across the room ... ugh ... not ready to croak yet !

I think I'm gonna give up this hectic lifestyle and become turtle waxer.

later everyone!

Viva lost wages !!! :)

Sunday night rolls around again. WAHOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday through next Monday I'm out in sunny, fun and debauchery filled Las Vegas, Nevada! I've never been before so I'm excited as all get out. Can't wait to see the city and I hope it's as much as it's been hyped to be.

Wow ... I'm at a loss for words and thoughts ... this doesn't happen very often. Maybe it's the cheese I just ate ?! does Havarti make ya lose your train of thought.

Ok ... at any rate I'll definitely update once I get back.... good or bad, richer or poorer. This is the first of my car thoughts postings. These are just thoughts I have on the way home. Yes I'm still paying attention to the road, but it's 35 minutes of freeway driving and it's not the most exciting scenery in the world, so I let my mind wander.

Today's thought is all about the justice system. Our glorious court system which, in my opinion, has hit rock bottom. We've got celebrities who can buy their way out of a criminal rap (you know who you are I don't need to spell it out for you ... even if it only takes 2 letters), frivilous lawsuits (it's coffee ... it's hot ... don't be brainless about where you put it) and corrupt officials. So I spent the drive home thinking about how we could give the justice system a makeover, for the better I hope.

First thing to go ... trial by jury. C'mon folks ... let's face it, when you get that notice in the mail to report for jury duty, it might as well be a note from your doctor wanting you to come in for a complete deep colon exam. I don't know of ANYONE who wants to go to jury duty, why do you think there are so many jokes about getting OUT of it. I think we can sum this up in one phrase by a noted comedian ... "How do you feel about leaving your fate in the hands of 12 people who weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty." These people don't want to be here, most of them wouldn't know a lawsuit from a sweatsuit and are probably thinking more about what to have for dinner than the trial. So I think juries ... out the door. I say, for all trials requiring a jury, we instead use a 3 judge panel who will hear the arguements, weigh the evidence and reach a verdict based on the evience. You can appeal up to a 5 judge panel, then up to a 7 judge panel and finally to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is your last stop, once you get there you take what you get from them.

Second thing to go ... the media. There's nothing worse than clogging up the television and newspaper with the worthless drivel of a celebrity trial. I'm all in favor of setting up a 50 yard barrier around the courthouse. Keep the media behind this line. Anyone participating in the trial would be escorted past the barrier, well out of site of any media hounds. Vehicles with severely darkened or no glass will drive inside a sealed overhang requiring anyone participating in the trial to enter the courthouse without being able to pander to the media. I'm willing to bet these celebrity trials would be ALOT quicker without the media covering them.

Third thing to go ... frivilous lawsuits. What's the matter with you ?! You woof down 3 cheeseburgers and wash it back with a 32oz milkshake and you think it's McDonalds fault you're fat. I've eaten alot of McDonalds in my lifetime, do I think it's their fault I'm fat? HELL NO !!! It's my fault for stuffin my piehole and I accept that. It's also not McDonalds fault that you can't find a better place to put your coffee than between your legs. Then you bitch because you didn't know it was hot ... what kind of moron are you ?! of COURSE it's hot, you'd bitch if they served it to you lukewarm or cool. My answer to frivilous lawsuits ... make the loser pay BOTH sets of court costs. If you're going to be a jackass and drag McDonalds to court because you're a lardass who can't keep their hands off of a big mac or you put your coffee cup everywhere but your cup holder, then you deserve to pay up when the justice system beats some common sense into your head with a gavel.

ok ... gotta stop now :) ... gettin to worked up here. Most of the time my car thoughts aren't this drastic but for some reason the justice system set me off today :) maybe it was the tiresome day at work, eh ... who knows. I vented, I feel better, life is good.

I think I'm gonna give up this hectic lifestyle and open up a heavy petting zoo.

later everyone!

Body wars - breakin out the big guns !

well, here I sit on Sunday night, still ill. It seems whatever infection I had spread into my upper lung area so let the coughing begin !!!

I called my doctor's emergency number and he responded within about 20 minutes (have to give props to my doc ... Dr. Gsellman .. nice guy, always pleasant, has a reassuring voice and is always cool with ya). At any rate, he called me in a prescription for somethin called Doxycycline.

So I tromp down to Wal-Mart and pick it up along with some Robitussin DM (which if you haven't had it ... tastes like a cross between 3 week old road kill and a septic waste spill). The pharmacist tells me I have to avoid heavy mineral products for an hour before and an hour after taking this (no milk, vitamins etc.) so I guess I won't be having cereal or yogurt for breakfast. Thank god for the startling (yet baffling) success of the McDonalds and Burger King chains, 5 miles down the road lies breakfast salvation, definitely no minerals, nutrients or anything healthy there, just plain ol gut-fill.

So I hop onto google and read a lil bit about this Doxycycline. It's pretty powerful stuff !!! apparently used to help cure anthrax, malaria, Lyme's disease and a few STD's. I pop one and wash it down with a full 8oz glass of water (pharmacists instructions, not sure how 8oz got to be the overriding standard ... but more on that in the future ... should I remember). About 1/2 hour later I force down some of the robitussin, gagging like a cat ready to hork up a hairball. I wash that down with some diet coke and roast beef. Hell ... I could have eaten a turd and it would have tasted better.

It's been about 3 hours now and I think I'm starting to hallucinate. I'm picturing this little war going on inside my body with the invading bacteria army encroaching on "lung country". My white blood cells bravely fighting but being overwhelemed by superior and stronger forces. The white blood cell generals making calls to the brain ... "We need reinforcements now dammit !!! NOW !!!! we're suffering heavy losses here !!!!". So the brain spurred the hand into action, grabbing my cell phone and calling the doc. So now I dispatch reinforcements down the ol gullet and here they come via the sea-route (ok it's only 8 oz but go with the metaphor here). So now I'm picturing several white blood cells in battle fatigues, sitting in trenches sayin "we can't hold the line sarge ... the cough just isn't killing enough of em, we're done for" and just when the invading army is about to come over the wall and massacre everyone!!!! *horns sounding, ground shaking* here comes the Doxycycline (picture large Abhrams tanks or something), charging over the hill, wiping out scores of bacteria in one shot, rampaging through the enemy army and retaking vast areas of my lungs. Bacteria are running in all directions, dropping weapons, exploding in horrible war movie ways and in general just dying, every once in a while one of the Doxycycline tanks blows up and eventually the bacteria will kill them all. Here's where the 12 hour cycle comes into play and I take another pill ... HA!!! DIE BASTARDS !!! reinforcements are on their way !!!! your evil empire will no longer plague my upper respiratory tract !!!!!

Wow .... aren't hallucinations great ! ... can't wait to see what kinda dreams this produces tonight. Realistically I hope this stuff kicks and does it's job before my trip to Vegas next tuesday. It's my first time in Vegas and I wanna be in perfect health so I can ruin it with 5 days of debauchery :-)

Ok I think I'm going to head back to the couch and continue "watching" the battle.

I think I'm gonna give up this hectic lifestyle and become an owner of a chinese fingertrap factory.

Later everyone !

oi ... hate being sick

Missed my last few days .... been down with some kinda virus ... not sure what it is but it's kickin my arse. I hate to think it's mono again .... I've had it twice (I know I can see people out there saying ... but you can only get it once !!!) .... well tell that to my blood test.

Either way I'm in a rather neat drug haze from Dayquil and Chloraseptic so I decided it would be a great time to make a post!! :-)

just read the news on CNN ... kinda depressing ... the Argentinians are going ape because of this Summit of the Americas, rioting in France (yes I know everyone hates the French but even if ya do ... a riot in your largest city sucks ... no matter who you are), we've got the British Royalty over here sightseeing down in New Orleans. Isn't there anything happy in the news ?! nope ... just checked ... all of the top CNN headlines are depressing ... what a drag ... think I'll head over to www.ebaumsworld.com after this to check out the latest in jokes and funny vids.

Other than my little blurb up above I don't really have much worth saying (drug haze again). Hope everyone else is well ! :) and if not .... maybe you should investigate your own private little drug haze.

I think I'm gonna give up this hectic lifestyle and become one of the people your parents warned you to stay away from :-)

Later everyone !

Lets get it started ...
